1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. Some are set by us (“first-party”) and some by service providers we use (“third-party”). Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and SDK identifiers. We use the term “cookies” for all of them.

2. Categories we use

Essential (always on). Required to run and secure the Site — load balancing, security, remembering your consent choices, and preventing fraud. The Site cannot function without them, so they are not subject to consent.
Functional (consent-based). Remember preferences such as language or dismissed notices so you do not have to set them again. Used only if you accept non-essential cookies.
Analytics (consent-based). Help us understand how the Site is used — pages visited, time on page, and referring URL — so we can improve it. We do not set analytics cookies until you consent, and you may withdraw consent at any time. We do not currently use cross-site advertising cookies or “share” analytics data for third-party behavioral advertising.

Current posture: At launch the Site uses only essential cookies plus any you explicitly accept via the consent banner. If we later add analytics or advertising providers that could constitute a CCPA “sale” or “share,” we will update this Policy, seek consent where required, and honor your opt-out signals before that activity begins (see Privacy Policy Section 14).

Durations are maximums — many cookies expire sooner or when you clear them. We review and prune cookies periodically and will keep this table current.

4. Your controls

Consent banner. Use Accept to allow functional and analytics cookies or Decline non-essential to keep only essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the bib-consent-v1 key in your browser’s local storage and reloading the page (future versions will include an in-page preference center).
Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies. See your browser’s Help for instructions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Blocking essential cookies may break the Site.
Analytics opt-out. If and when we use third-party analytics that offer an opt-out, we will link the provider’s opt-out here.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We treat the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of any future sale/share and of non-essential cookies to the extent required by law. When GPC is detected, the Site behaves as if you declined non-essential cookies. “Do Not Track” (DNT) has no uniform standard, but we do not override a cookie decline with a DNT-off signal.

6. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy when we add or remove cookies or providers. Material changes will be reflected with a new date above and, where required, a new consent prompt.
